A parameter study of transonic airfoil flutter and limit cycle oscillation behavior

A parameter study of transonic airfoil flutter and limit cycle oscillation (LCO) behavior was presented. The effect of structural parameters and freestream Mach number of a transonic flow on the flutter and LCO was found out using inviscid computational fluid dynamics (CFD) harmonic balance (HB) flow solver. The analysis showed that the computational efficiency of the harmonic balance aerodynamic model allows a thorough exploration of the parameter range.
