The use of soluble hydrazinium-based metal sulfide and selenide salts for thin-film deposition to include a wider range of metal selenide systems, including one system (CuInSe2) that contains two metals was presented. The CuInSe2 system is particularly interesting because it is the first example of a p-type semiconductor deposited using this process and also has application in photovoltaic devices. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 231st ACS National Meeting (Atlanta, GA 3/26-30/2006).
