We report positron 2D-ACAR measurements of superconducting single crystal Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ (unannealed, Te ≈ 90K). The observed anisotropy exhibits a two-fold (rather than four-fold) symmetry, which is attributed to the superlattice modulation along the b-axis of the B2O2 layers. Temperature dependent fine structures in the anisotropies are also noted. Subtraction of the superlattice contribution reveals a pair momentum distribution consistent with both the CuO2 and BiO2 Fermi surfaces and in reasonable agreement with the theoretical pair momentum density derived from band theory. © 1991.
