Modern cyber physical systems (CPS) are a complex mixture of cyber and physical components. Although the two aspects have been analyzed individually both in terms of performance and security, ensuring the safety of systems combining the two components is a challenging task. In addition to the cyber attacks deployed over the years (e.g., denial of service), CPS are also vulnerable to physical attacks (e.g., sensor spoofing). In particular, recent work has shown that an attacker may gain control of a system by either hijacking its sensors [1] or gaining direct access to the system’s internal network [2,3].
