Laser trapping and laser interferometry for high-bandwidth micromechanical probing of biomaterials

We present techniques based on optical trapping of micron-sized particles as probes and detecting their motion with sub-nanometer accuracy at 100 kHz bandwidth that can measure viscoelastic properties of biomaterials and cells on micrometer scales. © Optical Society of America.
