Overview


Amy M. Fowler, MD is an ASOPRS fellowship-trained, board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in diseases of the eyelids and lacrimal system. Her clinical interests include cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids and peri-ocular area, treatment of blepharospasm and hemi-facial spasm with neuromodulators, as well as cosmetic rejuvenation techniques including cosmetic lasers, injectable fillers, and botulinum toxins.

She speaks frequently at both regional and national meetings. She joined the faculty of Duke Eye Center in 2020 after 13 years at UNC where she also served as the Ophthalmology Residency Program Director, Vice Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Director of Medical Student Education for Ophthalmology.  As part of ongoing interests in medical education, she serves as an oral board examiner for ASOPRS and the American Board of Ophthalmology.  She also continues to enjoy teaching oculofacial plastic surgery fellows and ophthalmology residents.
