Overview


Jacob Sussman is a first year Biostatistics PhD student at Duke University. He graduated from the University of Utah in 2025 with degrees in Applied Mathematics and Physics, and a minor in Global Health. Jacob is broadly interested in applying quantitative and computational methods to questions in epidemiology and public health. He is interested in Bayesian hierarchical modeling, spatial modeling, machine learning, and high-dimensional statistics. Jacob is most driven by applications that consider public and global health in a social context, and focus on health justice.
