Overview


Jakob István Ware is a first year PhD student in the History Department. His research is centered around matters of national identity and ethnicity within the Habsburg Monarchy during the long nineteenth century. He has a particular interest within the Kingdom of Hungary regarding Magyarization, ethnic relations, and place of Jews within Hungarian society. He also has interests within European Jewish History, matters concerning Central-East Europe, empire, and Intellectual History.


Jakob earned a BA in History and a BA in English Language & Rhetoric at North Carolina State University in 2021. In 2023 he earned a MA in History there too.
