Overview
Joseph Goodwin (He/Him/His) is a first year PhD student in the Classical Studies Department at Duke University. His current coursework focuses on Ancient Greek and Latin literature and history with auxiliary classes in material culture and history of the discipline. He came to doctoral studies by way of the Bridge-to-the-PhD Fellowship. This program allows those students from less conventional backgrounds (e.g., first-generation students) to undergo a fully funded year of advanced study to prepare for matriculation to the full PhD. Prior to Joseph's arrival at Duke, he earned a BA in Classics from the University of Vermont.
