Kais Gadhoumi
Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing

Kais is an Assistant professor at the Clinical Health Systems & Analytics Division of Duke School of Nursing.  Before joining Duke, he was an assistant researcher and associate director of the Hu Lab in UCSF. His research interests are focused on digital health and precision medicine, specifically the application of artificial intelligence and advanced signal processing in the development of biomedical data-driven predictive models. Kais earned a PhD in biomedical engineering from McGill University and a master’s in electrical engineering from the University of Sherbrooke. He's the co-founder and ex-Head of Analytics of Stratuscent Inc., a Montreal based start-up developing next-generation intelligent chemical sensors and sensing platforms. He previously worked in telecommunication industry for 8 years where he held different technical positions. He is member of numerous scientific societies in US and Canada and recipient of many academic and professional awards.

Ongoing research activities: - Design and development of new methods for robust detection of treatable cardiac arrhythmia in ambulatory settings. – Investigate multimodal approaches to prediction of in-patient physiological instabilities -  Develop diagnostic and prognostic tools in neurocritical care.
