Overview


Shuqian Lyu is a director, editor, and scholar whose work explores the intersection of technology, sustainability, and storytelling. Born in Suzhou, China in 2003, she attended United World College of the Atlantic in Wales and graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University with a B.A. in Information Science and Performing & Media Arts.

Her practice spans VR/AR, sensory ethnography, and nonfiction cinema, often centering stories of environmental change and marginalized communities. Through her work, she aims to bridge lived experience and emerging media, challenging how we perceive and document reality. At Duke, she hopes to further explore the integration of computing and filmmaking.
