Overview
Ally Cameron is a second year PhD student in the Duke sociology department. She received her B.A. in sociology and her BSW (Bachelor of Social Work), both with high honors, from the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, Ally's research interests center around understanding a variety of health outcomes associated with personal and vicarious racial discrimination. Additionally, she is interested in understanding the role of identity in collective trauma and healing. She also has interests in understanding strategies used by racial groups to sustain collective healing, and exploring effective coping resources for individual healing.
