Overview
Ama Kyereme is an artist and graduate student from the Midwest. With a Bachelor's of Arts in Media and Cultural Studies and Geography from Macalester College, Ama explores the themes of culture, identity, space, and place, particularly within the context of the African diaspora.
Her work aims to give voice to individuals and communities, using art as a tool for social change. Ama’s passion lies in capturing life and sharing stories, and she continues to expand her artistic practice by delving deeper into the realm of spatial humanities. Her work challenges and engages viewers, prompting them to reflect on their own lived experiences and the powerful influence of media in society.
She believes that by exploring the complexities of culture and identity, and by examining the ways in which individuals navigate the world around them, a deeper understanding and appreciation can be fostered.
