Overview
I am a board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist with Durham OB/GYN and Duke Health. I received my undergraduate degree from Duke University, earned my medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and completed my residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. I have been a member of the Durham OB/GYN faculty since 2016.
I value building meaningful relationships with my patients and providing compassionate, individualized care. I enjoy getting to know my patients as people, understanding their goals and concerns, and partnering with them to optimize their health and well-being. I strive to create an environment where patients feel respected, heard, and empowered to participate in decisions about their care.
I enjoy the full scope of general Obstetrics and Gynecology and caring for patients across all stages of life. My obstetric interests include pregnancy, postpartum care, miscarriage management, and infertility. My gynecologic interests include abnormal uterine bleeding, contraception counseling and education, management of abnormal cervical cancer screening and cervical dysplasia, colposcopy, office-based procedures, minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, and gynecologic surgery.
Medical education is a central part of my academic career. I teach and mentor medical students, physician assistant students, Family Medicine residents, and Obstetrics and Gynecology residents in both outpatient and inpatient settings. I serve as a facilitator for the Duke School of Medicine Capstone Course and have developed and implemented educational programs in ultrasound education and simulation-based learning for fourth-year medical students preparing to enter residency.
My academic interests include clinical teaching, mentorship, ultrasound education, simulation-based medical education, professional development, and faculty development. I am passionate about supporting learners at all stages of training and helping prepare the next generation of physicians to provide outstanding patient-centered care.
