Assessing Awareness and Knowledge of Inflammatory Breast Cancer Among Primary Care Providers · July 2019 - January 2021 Co-PI · Awarded by: SOM Core Facility Voucher · $9,440.00 Explore knowledge of clinical signs and practices of Primary Care Providers (PCP) related to diagnosis and treatment of Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Work with the Duke Cancer Institute Behavioral Health and Survey Research (BHSR) core to understand PCP knowledge gap and barriers to diagnosis as an important first step in the process. The second step in the process is to conduct a survey of PCPs in North Carolina to assess information needs across the region.
Duke Outpatient Clinic -Trauma, Depression and Substance Abuse Screening and Treatment Project · April 2016 - December 2018 Evaluator · Awarded by: Northern Piedmont Community Care · $290,000.00 Piloted an practice redesigned initiative which ensured that all adult consumers seen at the Duke Outpatient Clinic (DOC) received additional standardized depression, anxiety, chronic trauma and substance abuse screenings if they scored positive on an initial brief universal depression screen established as a standard of care for this clinic. All those with positive screens on any of the follow up mental health evaluation tools were referred to a clinic-based behavioral health specialists, and all team based care providers worked together to coordinate behavioral health integration activities at the DOC.
