Research Interests
I practice general radiation oncology, treating a wide spectrum of cancers in both curative and palliative situations, with a particular interest in treating prostate and breast cancers. My undergraduate degree is in psychology, and I have recently completed a master’s degree in the works of Shakespeare through the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon. These studies have led to my current academic interests, which concern how the close reading of great literature by physicians can lead to improved empathy, understanding, and communication with patients, provide a deeper perspective on bioethical issues, and by those means, enable us to provide better overall patient care.
