Overview


Catherine Paquette is a clinical psychologist by training. She currently works with the Bellwether Collaborative for Health Justice in the Department of Population Health Sciences at Duke. Her research focuses on harm reduction interventions for physical and mental health among people who use criminalized drugs, including those affected by the criminal legal system. Dr. Paquette has over a decade of research and clinical experience in the fields of harm reduction and substance use disorder treatment. She previously managed harm reduction programs at a nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C, and she has both conducted research and provided clinical services for people with substance use problems in multiple hospital settings, addiction treatment centers, at the VA, and with community-based syringe services programs. Her recent work includes developing and empirically evaluating a harm reduction-focused behavioral teletherapy intervention for people who inject drugs.
