Clayton Alfonso
Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology

I went into medicine with a desire to care for women throughout their lifetime. Obstetrics and gynecology enables me to do that and so much more. Getting to know my patients is a priority to me. My clinical interests include general obstetrics, gynecologic surgery with a focus on minimally invasive techniques, benign gynecologic disorders, family planning, and contraception. I am originally from Louisiana and moved to North Carolina for residency in 2013. I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to care for the women of North Carolina in any way possible. Some of my other interests include education and advocacy. I enjoy being involved with an academic medical center, as exposure to medical students, residents, and research, allows me to stay abreast of current medical knowledge and practice. I have been to numerous local, state, and national conferences advocating for women's health.
