Overview

I'm a scholar of transnational memory and autobiographical writing, with a focus on how contemporary authors from post-socialist and post-Soviet contexts rethink the relationship between personal and collective history. My work explores how questions of memory, gender, and political critique intersect in literature. My interest in the comparative approach stems from my personal experiences of studying and working in multiple countries including Russia, Lithuania, Germany, the United States, and China.

In addition to my work at Duke, where I teach Russian language, literature, and culture, and serve as the Language Program Director in the Department of Slavic and Eurasian Studies, I also teach during the summer at the Middlebury School of Russian.
