David Sinclaire Van Mater
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics

I am a pediatric oncologist with a specific interest in hereditary cancer syndromes and sarcoma. I am co-director of the Duke Comprehensive Neurofibromatosis Clinic where I see children and adults with neurofibromatosis type I and II, in addition to schwannomatosis. From a research standpoint, I use mouse models of sarcoma to better understand the complex relationship between genetic mutations and the microenvironment in tumor formation.
