Overview

As a post-doctoral associate in the Molecular Genetics and Microbiology department at Duke University, I am actively training and learning new fungal microscopy and murine modeling techniques to develop assays and investigate microbiological interactions. My current work in Dr. Jenny Lodge’s lab explores cell wall interactions of the fungal pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans using diverse microscopy techniques. My interests include utilizing new imaging technologies and combining that knowledge with molecular genetics to answer fungal pathogens' questions and better understand the cell wall as a target during Cryptococcosis treatment. I aim to optimize assays for high-throughput screening of phenotypes under various stressors to better characterize the impact on the cell wall and its synthesis.
