Hubert Bray tutored and more recently ran a “Mathletes” program at the Emily K Foundation, founded by Duke’s head basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski, on a weekly basis from 2011 through 2016, for which he won the Community Service Award from Duke University’s Office of Durham and Regional Affairs in
2014. This non-profit’s mission is to “serve academically-focused, low-income students in out-of-school programming designed to help them achieve in school, gain entry to college, and break the cycle of poverty in their families.”
