Department UNC Internal medicine faculty and Staff · 2018 Story slams are events that celebrate storytelling by inviting participants to sharebrief stories with an audience. Participants deliver the stories verbally and attendees vote for the “best” story.UNC’s event was held October 2018 at the Department of Medicine’s annual Research Day –stories were solicited fromall Academy of Educator members as well as the Internal medicine Department Faculty, Fellows, and Residents and 6 finalists were chosen. Finalists shared stories with the live audience and the event was professionally video-taped and submitted for publication on theAnnals of Internal Medicine Web site, www.annals.org.

APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders: 2014-2016

National APGO · 2016 Selected by five clinician-educators who represent leadership in education for APGO, and five PhDeducators considered national leaders in medical education, as 1 of 24 academic Obstetrician/ Gynecologists to participate in a 15-month curriculum to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to be outstanding teachers and educational administrators. Graduates are expected to fulfill major educational responsibilities and positions within their Department, their academic institutions, the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) and other educational organizations.
