Overview


Jessa Stegall is a PhD student in the department of Psychology and Neuroscience advised by Dr. Tamar Kushnir and Dr. Michael Tomasello within the Early Childhood Cognition Lab and Tomasello Lab. Broadly, she is interested in young children's moral development. More specifically, she is interested in children's conceptions and judgments of the moral "oughts" such as social and moral obligations, fairness, and justice. 

Before coming to Duke, Jessa received her B.A. in both psychology and philosophy from Michigan State University, and taught as a first grade teacher.
