Karina Matos
Student
My passion for research follows a non-traditional pathway, as I was not exposed to science until my adult life. Since then, I have sought out new and exciting opportunities. I'm currently a first year student in the Cellular and Molecular Biology program. Prior to joining Duke, I did all of my research projects in neuroscience, all of which I explored in different areas with diverse models, ranging from cockroaches to mice, rats, and pigs. I also studied abroad as a BP-ENDURE NIH fellow in Michigan State University in 2016 and 2017.
