Karthik Raghunathan
Associate Professor of Anesthesiology

Dr. Karthik Raghunathan is a Tenured Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Population Health Sciences at the Duke University School of Medicine.

He 
is also a Staff Physician in the Anesthesia Service at the Durham Veterans Affairs Healthcare System in Durham, North Carolina.

In addition to clinical and educational work at the Durham VA and various Duke University Hospitals, Dr. Raghunathan serves as Co-Director of the Critical Care and Perioperative Population Health Research (CAPER) Unit conducting health services research with a focus on critically ill and surgical populations. As of 2021, he had received nearly $2Million in funding from Federal, Industry, and Non-Profit entities. Dr. Raghunathan is particularly interested in implementation of non-pharmacological treatments such as Perioperative Music Medicine, and in studies aimed toward identifying interventions to reduce inequities in the delivery of healthcare. He collaborates with similar researchers around the globe.
