“UNSUITABLE” is an events and speakers series that engages students and members of the Durham community with visiting authors, editors and scholars of romance fiction in a discussion of gender, sexuality and women's popular fiction. Co-organized by Katharine Dubois and Laura Florand, the series is run in conjunction with “The Romance Novel” course at Duke University. Our sponsors include Duke’s Forum for Scholars and Publics, History Department, Kenan Institute for Ethics, and Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, and the John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute. Our website (created and developed by students in the course) is http://sites.duke.edu/unsuitable/events.
