Overview


Kiani Gardner earned her PhD in Cell Biology from Duke University under the mentorship of Dr. Harold Erickson. Following a research post-doc, she began to focus on pedagogy and has been a college educator since 2011. She is passionate about the democratization of education at every level. At her heart, Kiani is a basic scientist with a strong bent toward policy. After a few years spent working in politics, she was thrilled to return to Duke in 2022 as an Assistant Professor of the Practice of Medical Education. Kiani is a multiracial, multicultural woman raising a multiracial, multicultural family in Harnett County, NC. Whenever possible, you will find her with her partner and three children at the lake.
