Current Research Interests

My current research interests include modeling fusion-positive sarcomas in mouse and cell-based systems, and understanding the common drivers of fusion-positive sarcomas. Chromosomal translocations resulting in novel fusion oncoproteins are particularly common in malignancies of childhood and adolescence, and especially in sarcomas- malignancies of soft tissue and bone. I am interested in understanding common features of fusion oncoproteins, how these features drive sarcomagenesis, and how the consequences of their activation can be targeted to improve therapeutic outcomes for children and adolescents with fusion-positive disease.
