Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
Pediatrics, Hematology-Oncology

Overview

I am a pediatric oncologist with a focus in sarcomas that affect children, teenagers, and young adults. My research is focused in osteosarcoma, the most common bone tumor in this age group and one that comes back after initial chemotherapy and surgery in nearly half of patients. I study how osteosarcoma cells are able to survive chemotherapy treatment and how osteosarcoma cells change after exposure to chemotherapy, with a goal to identify new therapies that can target these adaptations to improve patient outcomes.
