Maha Houssami
Lecturer of Arabic Language in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies
Collaboration with students on projects and adaptive techniques in Foreign Language education are at the center of my approach and it is rooted in experimenting with new technologies and cultural trends. My aim is to empower students to be leaders in this field and to continue to explore the language and the culture beyond their college careers. I offer students an exceptionally immersive experience with direct access to authentic voices in the US and abroad.
I strive to serve the Duke community by continually enhancing Arabic offerings to celebrate global diversity and emphasize the commonalities over differences. I am fortunate to serve a community dedicated to learning Arabic language and culture and to be in a place where creativity and innovation in the curriculum are initiated at the Arabic program level.
