Overview


Dr. Karandikar brings over 27 years of nursing experience, having worked internationally in the United Kingdom and India. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Karnatak University, India in 1996. She practiced in the United Kingdom prior to moving to the US where she earned her Master’s in the Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Program, from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She graduated with top honors and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International. She later pursued her Doctorate at Duke University and graduated with top honors.

Prior to Duke hospital, Dr. Karandikar practiced at The Neuropsychiatric Clinic at MindPath Centers and Geriatric Neuropsychiatry Services, PLLC. She is dual board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and an Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Karandikar is a member of the Royal College of Nursing, United Kingdom, the Trained Nurses Association of India, the American Nurses Association, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the Sigma Theta Tau International.

She is a Consulting Faculty Associate at the Duke School of Medicine (PA program) and a Clinical Associate at the Duke School of Nursing (PMHNP program).
