Overview
I am an abdominal transplant surgeon with interest in clinical and translational research in the areas of living donor transplantation, kidney and liver transplantation, the solid organ transplant outcomes among patients with hematopoietic cell transplantation, and cancer outcomes. I have a master's degree in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics and a certificate in healthcare leadership and quality. I have a research grant focused on biomarkers of mineral bone disease metabolism among kidney donors. As my research career has progressed, I have grown interest in understanding generational differences in the surgical workplace and in health disparities research. Specifically, my HSR research is focused on access to transplantation and identifying these barriers within the rural healthcare community.
