Overview
Mert Bahadir Reisoglu works on German literature and culture from a comparative perspective. His research is centered on Turkish German Studies, media theory and history, and intellectual history.
His book project examines the impact of developments in transportation and communication technologies on the works of Turkish-German authors and filmmakers.
Mert earned his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at New York University. Before arriving at Duke, he was an assistant professor in Comparative Literature at Koç University in Istanbul.
Mert’s work has been published in Seminar, Colloquia Germanica, Jahrbuch Türkisch-Deutsche Studien, Transit, and other outlets. In 2023, he joined the editorial board of Jahrbuch Türkisch-Deutsche Studien.
