Overview
Nolan Arkansas (he/him) (Eastern Band Cherokee) is a PhD student in Art, Art History, and Visual Studies at Duke, working under the direction of Professor Richard Powell. He received his B.A. in American Studies from Yale College in 2023. Nolan is a scholar of contemporary Native American art, the history of photography, Cherokee ancestral arts, and Native American portraiture.
