Peter Byrne, Senior Fellow at DCID, is an attorney specializing in international investment with years of experience advising multinational corporations on local and worldwide tax strategy. He has advised developing countries on various tax reform issues (most recently Mongolia, Peru, Colombia and Bolivia). He is co-founder and former vice president of Lataxnet, a network of tax specialists focusing on Latin America. Byrne is also one of eight U.S. tax practitioners considered by International Tax Review to be a “Leading Latin American Tax Specialist” (January 1998). He has served as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University and visiting professor at universities in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and other countries. He also served as deputy director of the International Tax Program at Harvard Law School from 1993 to 1996.
