Overview
Rafael's research interests lie at the intersections of theology and the arts and pneumatology. In dialogue with Latin American theologies, his doctoral project aims to draw insights from jazz improvisation in order to expand on how to live in and by the Spirit.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Rafael holds a Bachelor of Music (BMus) from the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, as well as a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO.
