Overview
I specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with a focus in spine and pain medicine. My goal is to improve each patient's level of function and quality of life by offering comprehensive rehabilitative care to those suffering with pain. I manage conservative treatments, such as medications, physical therapy, injections or implanted devices, to control pain. I work closely with Duke spine surgeons to help patients before or after surgery. I believe in viewing the patient as a whole in order to determine an effective treatment plan. Outside of medicine I am heavily involved in the performing arts. I am a Juilliard-trained classical pianist. I enjoy life in both medicine and music, as both fields demand a high skill level for listening, communicating, and sharing a depth of compassion. Being a physician is a great privilege. I strive to use my skills to offer a high level of personalized care.
