Sophia Goodfriend

Sophia Goodfriend is a Ph.D. candidate in Cultural Anthropology at Duke University whose research is based in Israel/Palestine. Her interests sit at the intersection of science and technology studies, surveillance studies, and digital rights. She holds an MA in social sciences from the University of Chicago and a BA in American studies from Tufts University.
Sophia's research and writing have been published in Foreign Policy, Visual Anthropology Review, The Boston Review, Jewish Currents, and elsewhere. Sophia has also worked as a private researcher for civil society organizations in the Middle East and beyond.
