Steve Hicks

Steve A. Hicks recently retired from full-time work with UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School and now maintains an appointment as a Professor of the Practice. Most recently he was the Associate Director for Employer Relations and Career Development where he collaborated with employers, faculty, and staff to create meaningful student engagements for career and professional development experiences. 

Before rejoining the Kenan-Flagler Business School, Steve held multiple roles in higher education including Executive Education Program Director roles at both UNC and Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Steve has also served as an MBA leadership coach at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. His early career experiences include military service and management roles at both large and small for-profit and non-profit companies. He is currently an Instructor in the Department of Markets & Management Studies at Duke University, and he received his Doctorate in Education from N.C. State University, Master’s degree in Education from UNC-Chapel Hill, and his undergraduate degree in psychology from Duke University.
