Overview
Syd is a first-year Ph.D. student at Duke’s Clinical Psychology Program working with Dr. David Goldston. She is broadly interested in understanding the role trauma and minority stressors play in suicidality among LGBTQIA+ individuals and intervention development and adaptation.
Syd received her B.S. in psychology from The Ohio State University in 2021, where she worked as a research assistant in a mood and personality studies lab and a student assistant at the Center for Latin American Studies. After graduation, she spent two years as a Clinical Research Assistant at the Adolescent Mental Health Collaborative at Brown University Alpert Medical School. There, she worked on a multi-site PCORI-funded study testing the effectiveness of a suicide prevention intervention for adolescents and young adults seen in the Emergency Department.
