Thomas Scott Devetski

Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology
Ophthalmology

Overview

My practice is focused on helping people with difficult vision problems, but I also enjoy seeing people for routine eye care. I have extensive experience, in both hospital and private practice settings, with contact lens correction of irregular corneas from keratoconus, cornea transplants, and refractive surgery, but I also help people with normal eyes who have had difficulty with CLs for other reasons. It is definitely a privilege to witness the elation of people debilitated by poor vision who now see clearly with treatment our practice has provided.

I enjoy athletics, playing tennis, basketball, and running, so I understand the vision challenges of athletes. I have had the opportunity to serve as the Team Optometrist at UNC Chapel Hill and Elon University over that last 20 years, so another focus is enhancing the vision of athletes.

With two kids in college, and one married and moved away, my wife and I are adapting to life as empty-nesters.
