Overview


Unglid Paul (unglid.paul@duke.edu) is a PhD student in the Department of Romance Studies, specializing in French and Francophone Studies, at Duke University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and French/Francophone Studies from Union College. Her research explores the relationship between literature and history in Haitian studies, comparative Black and feminist theory across West Africa and the French Caribbean, and twentieth-century Black diasporic movements through decolonial theory. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Côte d’Ivoire (2022 to 2023), a Posse Scholar (2018 to 2022), and she has received multiple awards for travel, research, and teaching. She currently serves as Managing Editor of Palimpsest: A Journal on Women, Gender, and the Black International.
