Teaching Activities
Valerie is a current co-instructor with the Duke OTD program; she has been teaching for three years in this role. Valerie has also served as guest lecture for multiple occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant programs for years, including Durham Tech, Pfeiffer, Methodist, and UNC-Chapel Hill. She values teaching students and sharing her love of mental health OT. She hopes to inspire other practitioners to adopt an occupational science perspective to their clinical work, integrate psychiatric rehabilitation into mental health treatment settings, and be change agents in the field of mental health.
