Valerie Yelverton, PhD, MSc, is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Interdisciplinary Research Training Program in AIDS (IRTPA) at Duke University funded through the NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) 5T32AI007392. 

Yelverton is a health services researcher addressing health disparities in infectious diseases. Her research focuses on healthcare access and outcome disparities among historically marginalized populations, telehealth, healthcare preferences, shared decision-making, and mixed methods research.

In her current role as a Postdoctoral Scholar, Yelverton explores preferences for telehealth-supported HIV care delivery, as well as implementation barriers and facilitators of telehealth in HIV care. Her goal is to develop person-centered implementation strategies to guide the allocation of telehealth among people living with HIV.
