Research Interests

I am currently interested in building stochastic and continuum models for understanding microtubule filament turnover and polarity mechanisms in neuronal development, and how these mechanisms are impacted in neuronal injury and regeneration. I am working on modeling and parameter inference for the transport RNA proteins in neural precursor cells, and in developing stochastic process frameworks for determining how unconventional molecular motors regulate actin filament organization.

I am also motivated by understanding the limitations of parameterizing mathematical models based on spatially-averaged fluorescence imaging datasets. In another current project, I work on building models and data analysis measures for describing approximate symmetries in models of cell growth and development.

I also support leveraging mathematics and computation to give insights into social justice issues.
