Analysis of nonlinear electromagnetic metamaterials

We derive the expressions for the effective nonlinear susceptibilities of a metacrystal formed from resonant elements that couple strongly to the magnetic field. We experimentally illus-trate the accuracy and validity of our theoretical framework. © 2008 Optical Society of America.
