A study is conducted to predict far field using piston theory. Piston theory is usually thought of as a high supersonic flow theory in that it can be derived as the limit of potential flow theory as the Mach number M becomes large. It is demonstrated that piston theory can b used as a check on the computational results at some selected high frequency and the more complex computations need not be continued to higher frequencies if they agree.
