Omega-3 fatty acids for vascular access outcomes in patients with chronic kidney disease

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of omega-3 fatty acids for the maintaining HD vascular access patency in CKD patients. The following will be addressed. To determine whether the use of omega-3 fatty acids versus placebo or no treatment for dialysis patients is associated with a reduction in failure rates. To determine whether the use of omega-3 fatty acids versus placebo or no treatment for dialysis patients is associated with harmful effects.
