: Polyampholytes are charged polymers with both positively and negatively charged groups. The conformation of these polymers in solutions strongly depends on the distribution of charged monomers along the polymer backbone and their environ- ment. In this review we summarize the current level of understanding of such ampho- teric polymers in solutions and their interactions with surfaces and polyelectrolytes.
